Footloose In America

 Mermaid's Purse Farm in Prospect Harbor, ME. The Kenny's and Della stayed here from October 2003 to September 2006. This house and the three connecting barns were being turned into a Bed & Breakfast. Bud helped with the renovations. In this photo you can see the red cart to the right of cars in the driveway. The stove pipe on the side of the barn is where the Kenny's lived. This farm had 32 acres and one quarter of a mile of shoreline.

Bud built this apartment in a hayloft of one of the barns. These windows look out at the mouth of the harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. The wood is cedar that was harvested on the farm more than fifty years ago. Bud planed and sanded it by hand. Then coated it with tung oil.

Della's stall was down stairs. 

This is the bed that Bud built out of cedar posts. The green shingles are part of the roof of the ajoining barn.
